History of the Park

 

Rules and Regulations

The Black River Wilderness Park is a family campground and these rules are for the benefit of all clientele and the protection of our property. We want to protect the Park's resources and promote a high quality experience.

Registration Details

  • Register and pay fees upon arrival before camping equipment is erected.
  • Our policy is 2 adults or 2 adults and dependent children under 18. One vehicle per campsite. (Now 2 extra adults allowed at $7.00 ea. per night. Maximum 4 adults, 2 children per site.)
  • Check-out is 12:00 pm for all sites
  • Quiet hours are 11:00 pm until 8:00 am. Check-out time is 12:00 pm for campsites and cabins.
  • No refunds will be issued under any circumstances including cases due to weather conditions.
  • All guests must register before entering the park. Visitors will be charged an admittance fee. Visitors DO NOT have access to the pool. Unregistered visitors will be charged at two times the admittance fee. Visitors must leave by 10:30 pm.

General Guidelines

  • All persons entering the camp and using facilities DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK. Our water source is the river. Even though filtered and treated, quality is not guaranteed and we do not recommend for human consumption.
  • Registered campers are personally and legally responsible for the conduct of their children and visitors. Children under the ages of 8 must be accompanied to the washrooms, to prevent plugged toilets and horseplay.
  • Children under the age of 18 have an 11:00 pm curfew and no riding bikes after dusk. Helmets recommended.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool area. Children must be supervised at all times, both near the river and the pool. Swim at your own risk. There is no lifeguard.
  • Keep pets on a leash. DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEM - ZERO TOLERANCE TO DOGS OFF LEASH - You could be asked to leave.
  • Keep firearms and fireworks at home. These are prohibited.
  • DO NOT LITTER - Help to keep the environment clean. Put garbage in bag and take to dumpster behind the office. Do not allow children to dispose of garbage in large bins, as the lids are heavy and children cannot reach. Aluminum cans only are recycled at bins at the washrooms. Please recycle.
  • Noisy parties, foul language, drunkenness and illegal drugs or disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. Consumption of alcohol in public places is prohibited. RADIOS OFF AT MIDNIGHT, VOICE LEVEL to be kept at a REASONABLE VOLUME AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY OR NIGHT. Violation of the above will result in your camping privileges being revoked.
  • Light fires only in pits provided. DO NOT MOVE FIREPITS. Keep fire low at all times. Cutting wood is prohibited.
  • PUT ALL FIRES OUT BEFORE RETIRING AND/OR LEAVING YOUR SITE.

Practice good camping manners; respect your neighbors solitude and privacy.

MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO:

(a) refuse admittance or make refunds to undesirable persons and will ask such persons to leave the camp, if necessary.
(b) access to site at all times for inspection, service and utility maintenance.

I hereby release all claims and rights against Mnjikaning First Nation, its employees, contractors, servants and agents for any damage to or destruction of real or personal property of the undersigned regardless of cause.
